AI lead qualification: your trade’s questions asked before a person calls back
The AI answers at any hour on your web chat and email, asks one question at a time and fills the lead. Code marks it qualified or lists what is missing, and your team calls the ones that are ready.

In one paragraph
What is AI lead qualification?
AI lead qualification means the AI asks each new enquiry the questions your team would ask before calling back, one at a time, and records the answers on the lead. At Unistaff a lead counts as qualified when it has a name, a phone or email, what the client needs and your trade's fields; anything still missing is shown on the lead.

The rule
When does a lead count as qualified?
Every trade starts from the same minimum: a name, a phone or an email, and what the client needs. Your trade adds its own fields. The check runs in code after every message, so the AI cannot call a lead ready on its own say-so.
- A lead with an email and no phone is qualified and still shows “missing: phone”, because the owner calls back by phone.
- A phone or email that does not appear in the client’s own words is cleared and shown as “not confirmed by the client”.
- There is no score out of 100: a lead is qualified, or it lists exactly what is missing.
From first message to a person’s call
The AI reads the whole message first and asks only for what is still missing, one question per reply. A lead’s stage only moves forward.

Job descriptions
The questions it asks, by trade
Each trade has a job description written from that trade’s intake practice. You adjust it to your business in the knowledge folder; the exam then checks it on 12 cases, each run three times.
HVAC, plumbing and electrical
Safety first: gas smell, CO alarm, sparks or water above outlets mean leave the house and call the gas utility or 911. Then five questions: what is wrong, since when, how old the equipment is, where it is, how many systems. Owner or tenant, and who decides.
Priority: no heat or cooling with equipment over ten years old, a baby or an elderly person at home, a leak still running.
Moving
New estimate, existing booking, move in progress or complaint. Date and how flexible it is. From and to: home type, floor, elevator, stairs, parking, stops, storage. Volume: bedrooms, large items. Packing and insurance.
To a person: a piano, a safe, a hot tub or an office move.
Real estate
Location, price range, motivation, whether they already work with another agent, mortgage pre-approval, and the appointment. Sellers: motive, timeline, updates, expectations.
Rentals: never asks about citizenship, source of income, family status or religion.
Salons and barbershops
New booking, change, cancellation or question. The service and the result wanted; for colour, previous colour and when, length and density. Stylist or first available. One question about allergies, pregnancy or skin sensitivity.
To a person: weddings, groups of three or more, extensions, correcting another salon's work.
Restaurants and catering
Table, group over eight, banquet or catering, takeout, change or complaint. For events, seven fields before any proposal: date and time, guests, place, service style, diet, contact, deadline.
Allergies are recorded and passed to the kitchen; the team confirms every table.
Consulting, legal and tax
The task and where: jurisdiction, activity, what the client already has, the outcome wanted. Urgency: a deadline or a court date. A person or a company, and whether another adviser is involved.
To a person at once: refusals, bans, deportation, criminal records, family and asylum cases.
Speed to lead
How fast the first reply has to be
Speed to lead is the time from a client’s first message to the first reply that is sent. The weekly review shows the median and the slowest tenth against your trade’s target. In their 2011 Harvard Business Review study, Oldroyd, McElheran and Elkington wrote that “most companies are not responding nearly fast enough.”
While the AI employee is a Trainee, each reply waits for your approval, so the clock includes you. After 3 minutes without an answer the client gets a holding line and the conversation comes to you.

What you get with every lead
- Lead table
- Name, phone, email, service, details, address, when, urgency, stage, what is missing and the next step
- Where it came from
- Channel (web chat or email) and the page of your site the chat started on
- Contact check
- A phone or email the client never typed is cleared and flagged, so your own number from the knowledge folder never lands on a lead
- Export
- Every lead to CSV, at any time; leads stay with you after the pilot
- Weekly review
- Leads, qualified leads, booking requests and handovers, against your trade's targets
- Coaching
- A wrong question or a missed field, rated down with a comment, becomes a lesson after a re-sit
Leads from website forms are a different job: scoring them against your criteria and drafting the first reply is the form-lead sales assistant, built on request. CRM connections are planned.

Questions about AI lead qualification
The AI asks a new enquiry the questions your team would ask before calling back, one per reply, and records the answers on the lead: contact, need, and the details your trade needs, such as the service address and urgency for HVAC or the number of guests for a restaurant. A person then picks up a lead that is ready to call.
By a rule in code, after every message. A lead is qualified when it has a name, a phone or an email, what the client needs and the fields of your trade. Anything still missing is listed on the lead. A lead with only an email is qualified and still shows "missing: phone", because the owner calls back by phone.
No. An inbound lead at Unistaff is either qualified or shows exactly which fields are missing, which a person can check at a glance. Scoring leads from website forms against your own criteria is the separate form-lead sales assistant, built on request.
Speed to lead is the time between a client's first message and your first reply. Each trade has a first-reply target in the weekly review, from 10 seconds for salons and 60 seconds for real estate to 5 minutes for HVAC and 15 minutes for restaurants. While the AI employee is a Trainee, its replies wait for your approval, so the first reply depends on you.
The Live role qualifies conversations on your web chat and on a dedicated email address. Form leads are handled by the form-lead sales assistant, built on request. CRM connections are planned; today every lead exports to CSV.
It stays in the table at its stage with what is missing listed, and the AI keeps asking for it while the client is in the conversation. Follow-ups are off by default. A lead is marked lost only by a person.
It is part of the AI inbound sales manager. The first 30 days are a free pilot on web chat and email, with no payment and no card. After the pilot comes one flat monthly fee per AI employee, agreed on the pilot review, with no per-lead or per-message meter. No list price is published.
